A MEMORIAL PLAQUE IN HONOR OF A HERO!

At the initiative of the CO “CF PIXEL.UA”, and with the participation of military personnel, veterans, family members, friends, fellow villagers, representatives of the Shpaniv Territorial Community, and the staff of the Shpaniv Volunteer Fire Department in Rivne Region, a memorial plaque was ceremonially unveiled on the facade of the Shpaniv Volunteer Fire Department building in honour of Private Roman Andriiovych Kozyrev, a soldier of the First Assault Company of the “KRAKEN” Special Forces Unit of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. He gave his life in battle on July 24, 2023, while defending the sovereignty, unity, and independence of Ukraine.

Roman Kozyrev was one of twelve enthusiasts who, in May 2019, became the first volunteer firefighters of the Volunteer Fire Department (VFD) in the village of Shpaniv, to fight fires and save lives. As a member of the Volunteer Fire Department, Roman courageously and selflessly served his community. According to the leadership of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service in the Rivne Region, he was awarded with the medal "FOR SERVICE TO THE STATE" in April 2021.
